JUGGLE

Why learn how to juggle a soccer ball?

All of the great players can juggle, Ronaldinho, Pele, Zidane, Maradona, Kaka', George Best and the greatest of them all Pele. In fact Pele used a grapefruit before he could afford a real soccer ball!

"No, i can't really remember practicing in my spare time. It's easier to remember the times i didn't practice, and most of those were when i was watching." Pele

If you can improve your juggling, you will definitely :

  • Improve your first touch on the ball
  • Improve your ball control
  • Give you greater confidence when dribbling
  • Improve your concentration
  • Make you more comfortable and competent when receiving the ball
  • Let's get started and get you going

Step 1

  1. Use a slightly deflated ball
  2. Start juggling on a hard surface that has a nice even bounce
  3. Hold the ball with both hands, arms extended at chest height
  4. Drop the ball and let it bounce one
  5. Before it bounces again, kick the ball back to chest height and catch it

There, you have done your first juggle, now on to bigger and better things.

The sequence that you just did was called "drop-bounce-kick-catch".

Keep practicing Step 1 using both feet until you can consistently kick the ball back to chest height.

Step 2

You will do a similar exercise to step one, but this time the sequence is "drop-bounce-kick-bounce-kick-catch".

That's right, all we have done is increase the number of kicks to 2 using the same foot.

Keep practicing Step 2 until you can do it consistently.

Step 3

We are now at the stage where we should be able to repeat the "kick-bounce-kick" sequence as many times as possible.

We will continue as we did in Step 1 and Step 2, but this time try to kick the ball to the same height that it was dropped from. Stay within a square that is 5 yards by 5 yards.

Step 4

Now for something a bit more challenging.

We will repeat Step 1, but this time we do not let the ball bounce.

So, the sequence is "drop-kick-catch".

Keep practicing Step 4 using both feet until you can consistently kick the ball back to chest height.

Step 5

You guessed it, Step 5 is similar to Step 4, but with an extra kick.

So, the sequence is "drop-kick-kick-catch".

Keep practicing Step 5 using both feet until you can consistently kick the ball back to chest height.

Step 6

You are now ready to do unlimited kicks, using one foot at a time.

So you just repeat the kick-kick sequence.

At this stage you should only use one foot at time. That is to say see how many you can do using only your right foot, and then see how many you can do using your left food. Juggling practice as well as using your feet, you should also include other parts of the body, such as the thigh and the head. When using the thigh, make sure you use the fleshy part of the thigh and NOT your knee.

You will probably find that the thigh is overused, because the thigh is an easier part of the body to juggle with.

Avoid overusing the thigh, just because it easier.

Use a pattern

Rather than aimlessly juggling, using patterns is a far better way to improve, so use patterns like (example) :

  1. Left foot
  2. Left thigh
  3. Head
  4. Right thigh
  5. Right foot
  6. Repeat 1 to 5

You can make up your own patterns, it is far more beneficial to follow a pattern, that to aimlessly chase a ball around, just trying to keep it in the air.

Keep up the practice and you will definitely improve.

Nb : This tips above is a base for freestyle. You can't do a tricks, if you can't juggle the ball. It's fun to juggle the ball.

1) Meal
Meat, fried foods, burgers and other fatty meats (bacon, pork, ham, salami, ribs, and sausage). should be eaten in slightly. Dairy products such as cheese, cottage cheese, milk and cream should be eaten in low fat version. Nuts and sandwich meat, mayonnaise, margarine, butter, and sauces should be eaten in limited amounts. Most are available in lower fat versions such as substitute butter, fat free cheeses and mayonnaise. Thought for the day: Lean, mean, fat burning machine. Then be one.

2) Don't Smoking
Since 1960, the Surgeon General announced that smoking was harmful to your health. Cigarette is the eternal enemies for athletes, especially for footballer and futsaler. Smoking will give you nothing.

3) Reduce Stress
Easier said than done, stress busters come in many forms. Some techniques recommended by experts are to think positive thoughts. Spend 30 minutes - 1 hour a day doing something you like. Example; soak in a hot tub, walk on the beach or in a park, read a good book, visit a friend, listen to soothing music, play with your pets, watch a funny movie, get a massage, meditate, etc. The core is, avoid the noise and relax your mind.

4) Protect Yourself and Avoid from Pollution
At least avoid smoke-filled room, high traffic areas, breathing in highway fumes and exercising near busy thoroughfares. Exercise outside when the smog rating is low. Exercise indoors in air conditioning when air quality is good. Plant lots of shrubbery in your yard.

5) Avoid Excessive Drink
While recent studies show a glass of wine or one drink a day (two for men) can help protect against heart disease, more than that can cause other health problems such as liver and kidney disease and cancer. Thought for the day: A jug of wine should last a long time.

DRIBBLE 2

Here are 2 "SECRETS" of dribbling that are seldom taught, so i encourage you to try.

Brazilians often relate their soccer to music, and have great rhythm when running and dribbling with the ball. The way to achieve this rhythm is to keep your upper body relaxed. This allows you to be flexible and helps you have much better upper body movements for deceiving the opposition. If you maintain a stiff body posture, your movements will be stiff and not really deceptive at all.

A really good tip to get a "looser" upper torso while training dribbling is to encourage your body to open your hands and keep your hands wrists "floppy". By doing this, the upper torso becomes loose and flexible, which in turn will lead to better upper body movement for body fakes. For instance, if you try dipping your shoulder one way and then going the other way, the "dip" will be far more effective with a loose upper torso, and therefore far more likely to deceive the defender.

To emphasize the point, make a fist with both hands and clench your fists tight. Now try moving your upper body and you should notice how stiff and awkward it is.
Now try the same with loose floppy wrists. See the difference?

Secret #1 for dribbling is to keep your upper torso relaxed and keeping your hands open and floppy

When dribbling it is more effective to be "small". The reason for this is similar to the reason for the first tip. By keeping small and close to the ground with your legs slightly bent, you will have greater mobility and able to twist and turn to deceive the defenders more easily.

To emphasize the point, stand straight up with rigid legs. Now try and deceive a defender by lunging one way and then going the other direction. Now try it with the legs bent and in a more relaxed fashion. See the difference?

Secret #2 for dribbling is to keep your knees slightly bent and keeping close to the ground

Stand small not tall. Here's a drill to help with this and you can incorporate both secrets into this drill.
Dribble the ball around with 15 seconds or whatever you want, then you must stop the ball "dead" using the knee.
Stopping the ball with the knee automatically achieves two things :

  1. Get you to lower your body by bending your knee, getting your body low to the ground (coiled and ready to accelerate).
  2. Forces the shoulder to dip and makes the upper torso turn.

Note : This is important to help deceive your opponents when faking to go one way before exploding in the other direction.

During the practice alternate knees, try double touches, right, left and continue dribbling, vary pace of the exercise.

It's fun and productive, and it works!

Nb : I learned dribbling from this tip above and with some additional practice, it really works for me!

ABOUT FREESTYLE

Freestyle Football, or also known as Freestyle Soccer in North America, is the art of expressing yourself with a football, while performing various tricks with any part of the body. It has become a widespread sport across the world and is played by many people.

There are many ways to express yourself, but freestyling with a football is fast becoming the preferred avenue for the youth today. One requires almost no equipment at all, only a ball is needed.

"Nothing is impossible" is a sentence which exemplifies the spirit of football freestyle. What feels impossible today may soon become possible with time and practice. As time passes by more and more tricks are developed and the sport becomes progressively harder.

Tricks are what it's all about performing tricks while juggling a ball with all different parts pf your body, soles, shins, thigh, heels etc. The first step is of course juggling the ball in the air. The difference between juggling and football freestyle, however, it is performing not just any tricks, but the most stunning tricks you can think of. Football freestyle can be performed while sitting, standing, and even in a lying position.

Famous Freestylers in the World :

My Opinion About Freestyle :
I think when you want to play the ball and entertain people even yourself, you can do some cool move with freestyle. Not just that, freestyle give you a lot of advantage, when you juggle the ball and do some cool move, you aren't entertaining people and yourself, but you also train your balance and your touch.
Balance is important for footballer and futsal player. Touch is important too, with good touch, you can feel the ball with ease, especially when you dribble and receiving the ball at the football and futsal game. You can make money from freestyle too, and there are a few freestyle industry, where pro and rookie freestyler joined together.
They get money, when they perform their tricks in any event.
